Senior Medical Director, Global Oncology Clinical Development

The Opportunity

A high-growth global specialty pharmaceutical organization is seeking a visionary Senior Medical Director to spearhead early-phase clinical development. Unlike a traditional "Big Pharma" environment, this role offers a pioneering opportunity to influence global strategy within an agile project leadership team. You will lead the transition of innovative therapeutics from early discovery through proof-of-concept for hematological malignancies and rare diseases.

Strategic & Clinical Leadership

  • Clinical Strategy: Shape and execute global clinical development plans (CDPs) from First-in-Human through Phase III.
  • Scientific Oversight: Provide medical guidance for protocol design, dose-escalation, and safety monitoring across multiple innovative asset platforms.
  • Translational Bridge: Collaborate with Biomarker and Translational Research groups to develop predictive pharmacodynamic plans, moving molecules from Research to Proof of Concept (POC).
  • Regulatory Advocacy: Partner with Regulatory Affairs to author key documents (INDs, BLAs, NDAs) and represent clinical plans before internal governance and global Health Authorities.
  • External Engagement: Cultivate strategic relationships with global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and academic investigators.

Key Qualifications

  • Credentials: Medical Doctor (MD) degree required. Board Certification or Eligibility in Medical Oncology or Hematology is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of clinical development experience in the biotech/pharma industry, with a proven track record in early-phase (FIH/Phase I) trials.
  • Therapeutic Depth: Strong background in hematological malignancies; experience in Multiple Myeloma or rare diseases is a significant plus.
  • Technical Expertise: Exposure to diverse modalities, including small molecules, biologics, or next-generation cell and gene therapies.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to influence strategy and collaborate effectively in a global, matrixed environment.

Compensation & Flexible Working

  • Base Salary: $310,000 – $340,000 plus a comprehensive bonus and LTI package.
  • Location: Hybrid flexibility (Greater NJ Area). The hiring manager values "purposeful presence," where travel to sites and international conferences can contribute toward in-person requirements.
  • Travel: Up to 35% domestic and international travel to support global studies.
